Seminar 3 of the Medicine, Doctors and The Law professional-education series for Leaders in Medicine at the Associate Consultant or Consultant level, offered by the SMA Centre for Medical Ethics and Professionalism. Covers Medical Negligence — concepts, processes and defence: introduction to medical malpractice, elements of medical negligence (duty of care, standard and breach of care, causation, damage, contributory negligence), damages, vicarious liability, role of medical experts, and the litigation process. 2 MME points (subject to SMC approval).
