About CMEPoints.sg
What is CMEPoints.sg?
CMEPoints.sg is a free directory of Continuing Medical Education (CME) events for Singapore doctors. Find, plan and track your SMC CME points in one place — filter by category, specialty, format and price.
Is this an official SMC website?
No. CMEPoints.sg is an independent listing service. We are not the Singapore Medical Council and we are not a training provider. We aggregate events run by hospitals, colleges and accredited providers — they award the points and the SMC sets the requirements, not us.
Does it cost anything?
No. CMEPoints.sg is free for doctors. Browsing events, planning, points tracking and the newsletter are all free.
How do I save events I'm interested in?
Use the Add to plan button on any event. Saved events appear under Planned on your dashboard. Once you've attended, mark the event as completed and its points are logged toward your totals.
Finding events & tracking points
How does points tracking work?
As you mark events completed, your dashboard tallies points toward the SMC requirement: 50 points over a 24-month qualifying period, including 10 core points in your registered specialty and 5 Mandatory Medical Ethics (MME) points for a 2-year renewal (3 for a 1-year renewal).
What do the CME categories mean?
- Category 1A — Pre-approved established programmes in hospitals & institutions
- Category 1B — Local conferences, seminars and workshops held in Singapore
- Category 3A (Self-study) — Self-study: reading accredited journals (SMJ, BMJ, JAMA), MOH/ACE clinical practice guidelines, and online modules — 1 point each, capped at 10 per cycle
- Category 3B (Quiz) — Distance-learning programmes with verifiable self-assessment
- Medical Ethics (MME) — Mandatory Medical Ethics — required for PC renewal from 2026
Are the points totals official?
No. Points shown here are a planning aid based on published SMC guidance and the figures providers give us. Always confirm your actual standing and the current SMC requirements before applying for your Practising Certificate.
Suggestions & contributions
Can I suggest an event to be listed?
Yes, please do. Accredited providers and institutions can submit events directly from their institution dashboard. If you're a doctor and have spotted an event we've missed, email us and we'll look into adding it.
Why isn't a particular event listed?
We can only list events we can see. Events that sit behind a paywall, a members-only login, or a closed mailing list may not appear until a provider submits them to us. If you know of one, send it our way.
I'm a provider — how do I get my events featured?
Create an institution account, submit your events for moderation, and once approved they appear in the directory. For platform sponsorships and newsletter placements, contact us.
Newsletter & account
What is the weekly newsletter?
An optional weekly email digest of upcoming CME, matched to the specialties you care about. You choose your interests, and we send a personalised shortlist each week.
How do I subscribe or unsubscribe?
Open your dashboard, scroll to Weekly newsletter, tick the box and pick your specialties of interest. Untick it any time to stop receiving emails.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Anyone can browse the directory. An account is only needed to save events to a plan, track points, and receive the newsletter.
Privacy & data
How do you use my email address?
Only to run your account, send the newsletter you opted into, and reply to messages you send us. We never share or sell your email address to third parties.
Why do you ask for my SMC number and specialty?
Your specialty personalises event recommendations and points tracking. SMC verification lets us show certain prescription-only-medicine content that, by regulation, may only be shown to verified doctors. These details are not shared with third parties.
